Text: Matthew 5:13-16 (ESV)
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Salt of the Earth

Righteousness that is not legalistic

Jesus requires us to demonstrate the fruit of righteousness

Do not loose your identity as the salt of the earth

We are to reflect the light that comes from Jesus, it means we are to live a life that will glorify God.

As believers and followers of Jesus, we are meant to be light of the world.

Not demonstrating the light is useless

How can you preserve righteousness in your sphere of influence? Think of ways were you can show your characteristic that you are the salt of the earth.

How do you react to unrighteousness?

We were called out of darkness into his marvelous light. How do we continue to show the light we received from Jesus?
