Text: Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.

Main Message

  • Faith is more than having the assurance of things hoped for becoming a reality.

  • Faith is a redirecting of our sight, a getting out of the focus of our own vision and getting God into focus.

  • Faith is Personal Trust with God

  • As we gaze upon God, as we look to Jesus as the author and perfecter of our faith, faith will continue to grow.

  • Faith is Demonstrated in Obedience

  • Noah remained obedient and did everything that God had told him to do.
  • Is your faith being tested today for lack of obedience?

  • Faith Strengthened through Testing

  • As Abraham focused on God, the promiser of the blessing, God’s promises came true.

  • Focus on God, and God alone, and allow God to be the God who can create something out of nothing.

Reflection Questions:

  1. In what ways can you continue to gaze upon God? Identify distractions that hinders you from continuously gazing upon God.

  2. Have you been relying on your own strength while waiting for God to answer your prayer?

  3. Examine yourself, can you say that you have done all that God has commanded you to do?
