Your Shepherd Guides Your Path
Week 3 - Your Shepherd Guides Your Path

Text: Psalm 23:3 (ESV)

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Main Message

-
Jennifer Rothschild - We all travel different paths; but we all have the same destination—God’s glory.
-
Your path has a purpose and your path has a destination, and that destination is God’s glory.

-
He Restores My Soul
-
Soul refers to one’s life, the whole person.
-
Being restored means to literally “bring us back.”
-
No one restores silver or furniture if it has no value. No one wastes the energy or work to restore something that has no potential. What does that say about the reason God chooses to restore you?
-

-
He Leads Me In Paths of Righteousness
-
To lead is to go ahead of a person.
-
God’s grace gets you on the path, and His grace keeps you on the path.
-
God leading us has a purpose, it is for God’s sake—for His name’s sake.
-
God’s honor is at stake in the way He is leading your life.

Reflection Questions:

-
As you look back on your path, can you see how God has guided you for His name’s sake? If so, how? What has brought Him glory along your path?
-
Do you believe you are that valuable to your Shepherd?
-
If we really trust the Lord, He will be our ultimate guide in all things. How does that happen in an everyday, real world sort of way?
