2022 PASTORAL SEARCH COMMITTEE CHARTER

 

Purpose

The Pastoral Search Committee (“committee”) was formed on April 16, 2022 following Pastor Jun Caruz’s intention of stepping down as Lead Pastor of GSCC at the end of 2022. The committee is tasked with prayerfully seeking out and appointing the next Lead Pastor and shall uphold GSCC’s Mission, Vision, Statement of Faith, and By-Laws throughout the search process.

 

Committee Members

The committee is comprised of the current GSCC Pastors and Board of Elders (BOE).

• Pastor Daryl Purificacion

• Pastor Franzon Faustino

• Bong Magno

• Ed Purificacion

• Romeo Rico

• The committee will include two leaders who will manage and coordinate two efforts that comprise the pastoral search:

• • Ed Purificacion: Selecting a pastor outside of GSCC

  • Erik Olivar: GSCC merging with another church

 

Responsibilities of the Committee

• Write the job description (roles, responsibilities, expectations, terms of employment)

• Define the interview process plan

• Determine compensation

• Set the pastoral search timeline

• Post the job description, recruit candidates, and obtain referrals

• Carry out the interview process, screen, and evaluate candidates

• Make the final decision on who will be appointed the new Lead Pastor

• Define the transition of leadership plan and ensure it is carried out

 

Responsibilities of the Committee Leaders

• Ensure that the committee is staying on-track and completing action items

• Be the main point-of-contact for candidates

• Provide status and instructions to candidates throughout the search process

• Provide updates to GSCC members on the pastoral search
